What will you be doing?

As the Payroll Officer, you will run our payroll through an agency, making sure that our most important asset – our employee – get paid on time. This also includes maintaining and updating employee records, as well as managing various HR documents and internal data, such as leave and employee payroll forms. Importantly, you will need an administrative ability with a strict process orientation to ensure we maintain good records and follow through on outstanding matters. Importantly, in this role you will:

  • Maintain staff pay details and provide required payroll advice to the Payroll agency
  • Be responsible for the managing of all staff leave applications
  • Partner with HR and Legal to maintain and update employee records
  • Ensure all pay is on time and up to the correct compliance standard
  • Liaise with Finance and executive on pay related matters
  • Part-time position, with a flexible 25 hours per week

What would make you a good candidate?

  • You have previous Payroll and Administration experience, with an understanding of HR procedures. A general understanding of various industrial laws affecting payroll, processes and HR systems/data support is preferable.
  • You are a problem solver - you aren’t afraid to roll up your sleeves, identify problems, and devise thoughtful solutions.
  • You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. This is a cross-functional role, and therefore, you should be a cultural champion in the organisation.
  • If you have previously managed a payroll through an agency it will be highly regarded
  • You are motivated by a fast-paced environment where you will have to constantly adapt with a can-do attitude - no two days are the same, seriously!
